Iyengar Yoga in San Miguel

I have been working with Jennifer as my teacher for the past tow years while in San Miguel. During that time my practice has improved greatly. I have done classes and individual sessions. I have shoulder and knee injuries, Jennifer has helped me adapt my practice to work with these issues. Jennifer is kind, friendly and patient (which I need) extremely knowledgeable Inyengar teacher. She is the main reason I keep coming back to San Miguel.

A classic, knowledgable yogi. A terrific Iyengar experience

This is what you search for in an instructor. Who would guess you could find this caliber of instructor in the middle of Mexico?

commited, focused instruction

It seems to me that Jen is very focused through her day on yoga. i think she is thinking about it all day; how to approach new students, teach with knowledge and understanding for the student, and help students forward their practice safely and broadly. i find Jen's work very genuine and in the process of becoming thoroughly in her own teaching style while maintaining the integrity and consistency of the Iyengar method.

A Treasure in San Miguel de Allende

Exactly like the title says, Jen Kagan is what you hope a yoga Instructor will be like but often falls short. She possesses the ability to guide students in and out of postures while helping them maintain focus so that each individual can have a meaningful experience no matter what their ability or amount of props it takes to get there. Through her understanding of how to utilize the props, she enables everyone to reach a goal.

So many yoga teachers just don't know how to work with bodies different from their own. Jen somehow has a broad spectrum of understanding of various limitations, why they are present and can explain how to work with them, not just advise sitting that pose out.

I have been practicing various forms of yoga for the last 17 years and finally for the first time am noticing progress with my tight front hips from Jen's classes.

An excellent teacher with attention to individual needs

It has been five years since I have been working with Jen Kagan and I will say that my practice has improved immensely. She knows how to help me work to my maximum without hurting myself. I like that she practices what she teaches, both for asanas and for her spiritual practices. She makes adjustments when necessary and is attentive to the needs of each student. I would recommend her highly - for both Iyengar students as well as those whom are new to this style. She teaches at several localities in San Miguel de Allende which is convenient for everyone.

Jen Kagan/Iyengar Yoga

Jen Kagan has been teaching Iyengar-based Yoga classes, and leading private sessions, here in San Miguel de Allende for 2 years. Her instruction is clear and concise, and she takes a careful and considered approach to planning her classes, as well as in her one-on-one work. She has a very peaceful studio in her home.

I have recommend Jen to clients and students of mine who need very specific rehabilitative sequences, as well as those who simply enjoy or prefer the Iyengar approach to asana, etc.
