Jen is a 200 RYT with Yoga Alliance and teaches Adults, Kids and Family Yoga classes throughout the Sarasota community. Growing up with a background in dance, Jen has a deep appreciation for movement. As a dancer, teacher and choreographer, she has integrated Yoga to heal injuries and motivate her dance students in a positive light. After living in the San Francisco Bay Area for nearly a decade, performing and teaching dance, managing a dance & fitness studio and raising two young children, she knew a change was needed toward a slower-paced, higher quality of life. Since this time Jen has been committed to moving with the breathe, slowing down the ever quickening pace of modern day activities, and cultivating a greater sense of inner peace with a strong practice.

In 2012, Jen took her love for Yoga to the next level as she embarked on Garden of the Heart Yoga’s teacher training program with Betsey Downing, Jaye Martin and Cheryl Chaffee. In 2014, she also received a Kids Yoga Teacher Certification by Every Kids Yoga with a focus on children with special needs. Jen has also studied Tantra philosophy with Bill Mahoney and Douglas Brooks and as a life long student of Yoga, continues her training and studies with local teachers and workshops throughout the country.

Jen’s classes infuse alignment principles with her unique and challenging flow. A heart felt theme is woven into class to empower students to bring his/her practice off the mat and into everyday life. Jen feels strongly that Yoga is for everyone and can accommodate students to meet individual needs or modify postures.

“Yoga serves as a reminder to stay present in the moment on this journey we call life and that we are a part of something bigger, therefore, cultivate humility, love and respect for ourselves and the world around us. Anything is possible with practice and I look forward to sharing the gift of Yoga with you.”
