Born in Queens, New York in 1971 to an Irish-Austrian family, Jennie left home shortly after her 21st birthday for the dream of being on her own and supporting herself. Working in advertising agencies, law offices, real estate firms and retail stores she was able to put herself through college and graduate with dual degrees in Psychology & Philosophy.
The late 1980s/early 1990s began a transformative and eye opening decade for Jennie as she immersed herself in the New York City club scene - the epicenter of avant-garde artists, musicians, dead beats, free thinkers and alcoholics/drug addicts. She began an era of testing boundaries, flirting with mortality and experiential learning.
In 1999, Jennie was married and set off to write the next large chapter of her life which included the discovery of yoga, additional college degrees and professions ranging from New York City Paramedic to Critical Care Nurse to Massage Therapist to Yoga Teacher. Many years were spent learning and re-learning while continuously searching for a way in which to integrate all of the seemingly unrelated insights to the human condition. Jennie was educated and successful while weighed down by the burden of alcoholism and drug addiction that started in her late teens.
By 2008, her addictions had over shadowed her professional & personal accomplishments and she began the challenge of recovery and sobriety. Jennie worked painstakingly with exploring truth in all moments of life, both the light and the dark. The work was painful, lonely, raw, exhilarating and life changing while guiding her towards leaving her 15 year marriage, most of her friends and all of her past.
Jennie's work continues to evolve and is deeply influenced by many great traditions & philosophical beliefs. She approaches life with a fierce willingness to learn and grow, and her commitment to make spirituality accessible and inspiring to all is reflected by her own willingness to deepen her personal understanding of the mysteries, and her desire to share all that she discovers along the way.
