The ancient path of yoga continues to inspire Jennifer and transform her life. She has a deep passion to create a healing space when sharing this practice with others. Using the natural expression of movement supported by the breath, Jennifer strives to create a balanced posture flow with a focus on inner awareness and mindfulness. She believes that all forms of practice can be gentle in spirit when proper knowledge and presence is applied. She enjoys integrating meditation, pranayama, chanting and sound healing into her teaching, as she has found these to support the student both on the mat and in day-to-day life. Jennifer has been living and studying in earnest at Ananda Ashram since 2006, is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, and also holds a in Psychology and a in Communication. Her most influential teachers include: Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati, Ramana Maharshi and Iyengar Yoga Master Kofi Busia.

Jennifer Schmid-Fareed Is amazing

In Jennifer Schmid-Fareed's yoga class, she shows a lot of care and love to her students. She creates a safe and nurturing environment for students to grow in their own practice. She is gentle with adjustments and soothing in her communication. She is very experienced and has a beautiful and unique way of teaching which comes from living full time at an ashram for many years. She is very knowledgeable about the spiritual side of yoga as well as the correct alignment and health benefits. She practices the yoga of daily life so that whether she's in her yoga class or at the grocery store, she's focused on growing to her edge in each moment. I highly recommend taking a class from Jennifer Schmid-Fareed for all of these reasons and more!

Wonderful teacher calming influence

Jennifer is a wonderful teacher. Her classes that I have taken focus much on breathing and relaxation. She has a nice balance of explanation and demonstration and though she will do hands on adjustment she is in no way overly hands on. To me it is important that the instructor make sure my body is in alignment and sometimes explanation is just not enough. I always feel more calm and peaceful after her classes. She has a wonderful teaching style and a beautiful outlook on life to share with her students!

I've been fortunate to have had classes with Jennifer as well as a private retreat. Her classes are exceptional. The flows are coordinated with breath and posture. Her adjustments align the body. You feel absolutely wonderful when class is over and continues over time. Her spiritual nature is shared with all. She is the best.
