I feel as a teacher my first responsibility is to INSPIRE my students to embrace health, wellness, and a balanced state of being. As most certainly," Yoga is not about the shape of your body but rather the shape of your LIFE". (- Aadil)
"That which we can change for the better - we must !" (-Aadil)
I strive to give my students the tools of Asana, Ayurveda, & Meditation whereby the student can eventually cultivate a self practice thereby changing their "story" or context and heal oneself.
My teacher, Aadil Palkivala comes from an alignment based yoga lineage having worked with BKS Iyengar since the age of 7. Safety and integrity of asana are my top concerns as I believe that yoga asana is not about getting the body into a pose but rather about getting the pose into the body. In a classroom setting, I focus on truly being present. To actually see and feel the room and try to provide as much personalized guidance as possible.
I do not take the gift of yoga lightly and I do my personal best to not only teach yoga with integrity but to also live my yoga and do my practice on a daily basis.
I try not to take my yoga life too seriously and live in a world of moderation. My cats as well as my local barista would describe me has highly approachable and I would like to think I have the ability to infuse my classes and/or private lessons with a bit of humor and fun.
In my spare time I enjoy sailing, crossing countries off my "to do" list and blogging about my minimalist alternative lifestyle in a 26 Ft RV.
