Fitness has always been part of my life. In my younger years, I played soccer and ran track. As I got older, my fitness interests changed. I discovered yoga when I was pregnant with my first child. At the time I was doing a lot of weight lifting and wanted something to do outside of the gym. From my first "om" I was in love. I found such peace and stillness on my mat. I continued my practice after my daughter was born, and through two more pregnancies.
After practicing the past 6 years, I decided to deepen my practice and became a certified 200 hour yoga teacher at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. Along this journey I saw my children taking interest in yoga. It was fun watching them play on their mats. So, I also became certified in children's yoga through mini yogis, a Yoga Alliance recognized training.
Off the mat, I'm a wife and mother to three busy kids and two cats. I can also be found in my Crossfit box doing the workout of the day or enjoying a cup of coffee.
