Jess’ journey began on a life-changing trip to India in 2016, where she was first introduced to Yoga, PranaYama, meditation, Mayan astrology, numerology & moon cycles. Resonating with her immediately, things quickly developed into a passion and quest, taking her to Nepal to practice Vipassana meditation in Lumbini (the birthplace of the Buddha), which is where her spiritual transformation really began, and the first understanding of how powerful silence can be.
Her journey continued to Guatemala in Central America, where she studied esoteric studies at Las Piramides Del Ka in the stunning surroundings and energetic centre of Lake Atitlan, connecting her to the four aspect of self, the four elements, and the cardinal points. This is where she first studied Pranayama, an art that's often misunderstood or overlooked, and is something she now feels strongly and passionately about integrating into her own practice as well as introducing to others. Here she also became a certified Reiki I practitioner, enhancing her knowledge of energy systems and meridians, as well as becoming qualified in Shaluha-Ka massage therapy: an esoteric 4-dimensional massage taught exclusively at Las Piramides Del Ka. She also immersed herself further into Mayan astrology, and shamanic cacao ceremonies.
From there, she followed her intuition and continued on to deepest darkest Peru where she sampled South American culture, learnt about Andean cosmology, as well as working with ethnogen medicinas, Ayahuasca & Huachuma, in the sacred valley of Cusco and the Amazon jungle with the Shamans of Pucalpa.
With a strong self-practice and renewed fervour, Jess felt compelled to return to India to study Yoga and Meditation further. She enrolled at Kranti school of Yoga in Goa, India, studying under Grace Farmer. She qualifyied as a 200hr Ashtanga Yoga Teacher in 2017, deepening her own practice of Meditation and Pranayama at the same time.
Since qualifying as a teacher, she ventured north to Dharamsala, the home of the Dalai Lama and the Himalayas, to delve a bit deeper into yoga, meditation, crystal healing and other alternative energies. Completing a course in Siddha Kundalini crystal healing, and enrolling on a 10 day retreat at the Tushita meditation centre in Dharamsala, which teaches Shamatha, or Calm Abiding, and analytical Lam Rim meditation.
Jess' yoga classes are thoughtfully created using asana, pranayama, mantra and meditation, to cultivate insight through connection to the inner guru with dynamic and slow reflective practice, encouraging a more spiritual experience.
A sprinkling of Jess' own flip flop filosophy is thematically woven into the practice, along with an emphasis on breath and energy awareness, to assist students to go deeper into their practice and draw from within.
Everything you need is already inside of you, just let go and you will see.
Since returning to England, Jess' aim is to bring spirituality, connectivity and awareness to those who are time-poor, but so in need of reconnection. She aims to be the intermediary who can assimilate the knowledge and skills from Eastern philosophy and Western Science, translating them into digestible formats for a Western audience, those who might be put off by verbiage such as "Spirituality", facilitating a space where they too can explore and benefit from the underpinning philosophy and practice of spiritual practice.
Jess is committed to a path of continued learning to keep the knowledge fresh and relevant and aims to return often to World to explore different Cosmologies, Philosophies and Scientific research to create a holistic approach to her teachings.
