As a ballet dancer growing up I have always been interested in the fine-tuning and inner workings of the physical body. I've been teaching dance to children of all ages since 2005 and studied dance at the University of Colorado in Boulder where I earned my BFA in 2008. While in college I discovered yoga and found the combination of the physical practice and the energetic and spiritual connection to be life changing. In 2011 I became an elementary and middle school reading teacher and studied pedagogy at its best. After 10 years as a yoga student I decided yoga was too good to keep to myself and set off to study to become a yoga teacher. I traveled to Bali, Indonesia to earn my Yoga Teacher Certification (200hr RYT) from the Power of Now Oasis in Sanur, Bali. The rigorous daily 2hr yoga classes, anatomy lectures, energy work, meditation, and posture studies has informed my practice and teaching; taking my knowledge of yoga to a much deeper level. My yoga classes cater to all levels by offering a challenging, yet accessible practice- helping students tap into their inner strength and confidence. It is from my experience as a dancer, yoga teacher, and classroom teacher that I create uniquely structured and inspiring classes. My teaching approach allows for all levels of ability and experience to practice in a group setting while also allowing students to work within their ability level. It is in my one-on-one sessions that I work to usher students along an accelerated path of growth and progress by simultaneously pushing and respecting the individual student’s limits.
