Before Jianna really knew what yoga was, she loved to move and stretch her body. She was fascinated by choreography, acting, and singing, but found herself craving something more grounded, and she discovered it in yoga. The complexity of the practice, the ever-changing nature of the postures, and the pure joy that comes from moving through space makes her fall in love every time she comes to the mat. Discovering yoga was like finding a missing puzzle piece, and she knew right away she wanted to bring the love she felt for yoga to others. She completed her 200 hour training at Yoyoyogi in 2014, and in doing so, discovered a true love for teaching.
As a teacher, Jianna is at her most rooted and her most passionate. She uses her background as a performer to set the stage for a yoga experience, moving beyond the postures to create a safe atmosphere for students to explore and dance their way through the asanas. Her greatest hope for each and every student is that they discover how much fun movement can be! From the first time you touch your toes to the first time you nail your backbend, she’ll be there to help you and cheer you on.
Off the mat, she spends her work week as a graphic designer. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, hot toddies, and good company.
