In the early 1960s, seven year old, pioneer Yogini Jill Karlin Butler began practicing Yoga. As a young teenager she was asked to teach in newton South High School, Newton, Massachusetts. Jill studied with Diana DeSimone, Jana Surkankova, Helen Sia, and after a near death fall off a cliff in Mexico, in which she broke three vertebrae, Jill began her studies with the teachers of BKS Iyengar, Patricia Walden, Barbara Benagh, Kofi Busia, Donna Holeman, Angela Farmer, Gabriella Giubillaro, and in the US and India with great Hatha Master BKS Iyengar.
Jill had an enlightenment experience practicing Vipassana mediation with Goenka, and it opened her up to a lifelong practice of mediation and her practice of Vipassana.
Her life changed again upon being introduced to Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. She continues to practice and teach all of these disciplines.
Jill teaches in a clear, classical, and precise manner, with warmth, and joy in sharing an art to which she has devoted her life. Jill has taught rock stars and royalty. corporate heads, and athletes. She teaches children, elderly, people of special needs and regular folks. She teaches all levels of students including those with special needs.
