"My philosophy is that anyone who can breathe can do yoga. You don’t have to be super bendy or even very fit to start feeling the benefits of yoga practice. I get a huge amount of satisfaction out of seeing people discover those benefits. “

After travelling the world, and studying with yoga masters in India and China for years, it was in my hometown of Sydney that I found what I'd been looking for: a more medical and scientific approach to yoga. The synthesis of the ancient traditions with contemporary thinking and research-based science continues to inspire his approach to yoga – Yoga Synergy.

I have worked with the Indian National Cricket Team as their official Yoga Coach in a bid to improve the team’s fitness and mental focus. That same team went on to win the Cricket World Cup in March with Gary Kirsten at the helm. I like to think that the yoga had something to do with it.

I have also India with the Delhi Daredevils IPL team and in the Champions League.

A Master in Cape Town

Never sure if I am doing the bars above right, but Jim is certainly everything to the right. An Australian surfer, Jim is different to most teachers in CPT as he teachers according to the school of Yoga Synergy, which is very focused on the anatomy and understanding how to work with ones body in a safe way. He is a very quiet, calm and gentle person, yet very confident in the many many years of experience as a teacher of teachers and students. Cape Town is blessed to have such a yoga champion as part of their teacher community.
