With 7 years of teaching experience and over 800 hours training in hatha, vinyasa and pregnancy yoga, Jocie has developed an informed, enthusiastic and nurturing approach to teaching.
She believes in facilitating the practice with warmth and encouragement - ‘the body is complex and it takes time sometimes to tune in to what it is saying to you. Discovering the power of simply noticing the breath can be as game-changing for one person as finally nailing that handstand is for the other’.
Having worked as a video Producer and Director for a number of years, she found yoga in her life one cold winter evening at an Islington studio, with the intention only to encourage a gentle shift in her perspective on the world. What she witnessed was in fact a transformational change, and as this positive new energy continued to grow, it finally inspired her to travel to India and complete her 200 Hour qualification in Hatha Yoga.
She continued her training with Frog Lotus Yoga International, completing an advanced level 300hr qualification in Vinyasa Flow and then in 2019 embarked on an 18 month training with YogaBirth UK. YogaBirth incorporates comprehensive study of the physiology of pregnancy and birth, alongside a gentle yet powerful approach to teaching yoga, influenced by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli.
Jocie helps people to feel grounded whilst feeling spacious by building intelligent awareness through the body and practising deep listening. She believes that by acknowledging the power in simply allowing things to be, anyone and everyone can access the benefits of yoga.
Having recently made the enormous transition to motherhood herself, Jocie is hugely respectful of every new parent and very passionate about sharing this knowledge.
Jocie is registered with the yoga alliance and fully insured.
