Joyce welcomes everyone to enjoy their practice and to find peace in every pose. Her teaching encourages flexibility, strength, and a sense of humor.

Joyce began her yoga practice in 2001 while both her parents were battling cancer. Yoga provided relief from stress and a place where she could let go, re-center, and find her joy.

She received her 200 hour training in 2005 through It’s Yoga Las Vegas under Maggie Verderame and Larry Shultz. She moved to CA and found her next mentor Anirudh Shastri.

In 2013 she received her 85 hour training for Prenatal Yoga under Jennifer Wolfe of Prenatal Vinyasa Yoga and became a trained doula through Dolphin Doula. Her focus in prenatal yoga is to create a safe environment where women can connect with their changing bodies and learn how to bring the baby into a perfect birthing position with the use of gravity, alignment, and movement. Joyce’s prenatal techniques also calm the mind and senses for labor.

In 2015 she received her 95 hour Children’s Yoga Teacher certification from The Lotus Seed School of Yoga and Movement Art under Wren Doggett.

In 2015, Joyce also began studying under Sri Dharma Mittra and took the 500 hour Life of a Yogi Teacher Training.

Joyce is a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher (E-RYT), prenatal yoga teacher (RPYT) and Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT) with 10 years of teaching experience.

Great teacher especially for someone new

I had the privilege of having Joyce as a teacher when I first started practicing years ago. She is warm, nurturing, compassionate, and always eager to help. She had the perfect temperament to help me be comfortable with myself and where I was at. Joyce had great explanations to help me into poses, was excellent at demonstrating which was very helpful being new, and when I just wasn't getting it she offered gentle corrective feedback. I am no longer in the area and it has been difficult to find someone that feels as comfortable as my fond memories in her classes.
