I began practicing yoga/meditation in to help ease the symptoms of a chronic illness and to relieve the stress associated with my job in a corporate environment. I learned very quickly that yoga is more than poses. Yoga is the union of the mind, body and spirit. Once you clear the mind of the stresses and distractions of everyday life, the body will begin to release the tension built-up in the muscles thus bringing the body to a relaxed state. When the mind is clear we begin to accept, honor and respect the body, from there the spirit is released. When the spirit is released the heart opens, the heart become more patient, understanding, and loving towards ourselves and those around us.
