Julia was first introduced to yoga in college, where she discovered the transformative power of a regular practice. After exploring various styles of yoga while living in NYC, she was happy to settle in DC and find a wonderful yoga community that challenged her physically, mentally, and spiritually . She graduated in December 2013 from the Buddha B Yoga Teacher Training, and is a 200-hour certified vinyasa yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance. As a teacher, Julia hopes to cultivate in students an attitude of respect and gratitude, both towards self and all other sentient beings. Julia hopes to help students to find joy and ease in all postures, and encourages students to move with awareness and intention. While Julia loves to be outdoors on her bike or running on trails, she believes in taking time to be still, and finds asana practice the most beneficial preparation for meditation. Julia believes everyone can benefit from a yoga practice, and hopes to deepen her own practice by sharing it with others. She thanks her teachers Valerie, Rexx, and Hari-Kirtana das, and the many others who have shared kindness and support.
