RYT–500 certified yoga teacher and recognized fine-artist, has been teaching and leading yoga and culture retreats internationally since 2004.
Julia brings over 20 years of personal yoga practice and ongoing intensive study in the major Hatha yoga traditions to her intention that each student may experience her own power, courage, beauty, and celebrate life with more ease and joy.
Julia began her yoga studies with Richard Freeman, while racing bikes professionally in Boulder, Colorado. I found immediately that yoga helped me in everything I did, in every aspect of life, from my performance as an athlete, to inspiring my creative production, keeping me healthy and balanced in body and mind, and centered on my spiritual path.
Julia’s primary yoga mentors are Desirée Rumbaugh, Noah Mazé, Richard Freeman, and Thomas Fortel. Philosophically, Julia studies with Dr. Douglas Brooks, a leading Tantric scholar.
A former member of the US National Cycling Team for six years, julia also holds a in philosophy, phi beta kappa, from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and is a classically-trained painter. She exhibits actively, and her work is in many private collections in the and abroad. Julia is on the faculty of the Esalen Institute. She lives
in Big Sur, California.
