RYT–500 certified yoga teacher and fine-artist, has been teaching and leading yoga travel & culture retreats internationally since 2004.
Julia teaches from the experiences of 28 years of practice and ongoing study in the major Hatha yoga traditions.
She believes yoga, when practiced, has the ability to unfurl potential, empower hope, and ease the challenges of daily life.

I am interested in both the art and science of yoga and it’s applicability to everyday life.
I teach yoga because I love it, and I want to transmit my findings and enthusiasm from over 25 years of practice. I aim to make my classes upbeat, accessible, and fun, while retaining deep reverence for the teachings and integrity of tradition.

Julia instructs a dynamic, fun, and challenging class,
offering clear and specific alignment instructions in an uplifting environment accessible to all levels.

Expect to develop breath, strength, focus, and clarity – and enjoy the present moment while building stability and core-integration.
Poses from all categories of postures including intro to arm-balances, inversions, and backbends may be offered, along with constructive and appropriate stages of practice for all levels, in a blend of hatha and vinyasa.

Simply the best

I want to take the time to let you know what an excellent job she did for our group touring around Italy doing yoga, walking, touring, eating and drinking wine. Also to say how thankful we were to have had you as our Trip Leader! Her personality worked great for this position...... fun loving, intelligent, talented and hard-working! Julia hopefully our paths cross again on a cycling or yoga trip soon
Cheers from Canada

Athletic spirituality personified.

Julia embodies the Bodhisatta spirit. I met Julia 10 years ago on a yoga intensive in Mexico. Getting on the water taxi to leave we found out we were neighbors in Big Sur. 2 years ago she co-taught the 7 day intensive in Mexico. Julia's suggestions,
adjustments and stellar example have made me a better person and brought ease and grace to my practice. She is not just good, she is one of the best.

Julia is a wonderful teacher!

Yoga classes with Julia are wonderful. Her classes provide you with a great workout as well as being an educational experience. I love her gentle approach, her vast knowledge of yoga and her ability to get you to understand how to do poses correctly. Her internal and external beauty shines through in everything she does. One cannot find a better teacher!

My favorite instructor!

Julia is an amazing instructor! She taught me things about form in yoga that no other instructor had talked about and demonstrated. She explains things so well and provides hands-on assistance to get your body into the right form as needed. My body felt the positive benefits of her excellent instruction. She is far above any instructor I have worked with. Additionally, I loved that she started each of our sessions with a theme or something you could meditate on. I never have been good at meditation, but I felt like after about 90 minutes of a yoga session with her I got to that state. If you want someone who will challenge you but is also just a very enjoyable person, you should check her out.

Wonderful Teacher!

Julia is a wonderful teacher. A person can do as much or as little yoga as they want. She both demonstrates and explains the poses as well as adding the story behind the pose. She is a very experienced teacher who continues to study and add to her knowledge.

Yoga for Life

Julia lives her yoga teaching -- just watch her move through the day. In every session with her, I learned minor adjustments or different ways of doing poses that have helped me build a personal practice that has kept me flexible and strong into my 8th decade.

Thank you, Jan. I am honored by your review. It is especially important to me to be able to offer tools that can help students practice yoga so that it is life-enhancing, sustainable – and sustaining, to body, mind, and soul. This practice is for life! Thank you for modeling that for all of us.

A ray of sunshine . . .

and breath of fresh air . . . Julia's yoga is grounded, spiritual, uplifting and fun all at once. I have had the privilege of being a student of Julia's on bike retreats and always looked forward to her yoga as a way of reconnecting with myself and going within.
Thank you Julia!
