I discovered Bikram yoga 12 years ago when a friend dragged me to a class, and I was hooked almost immediately. As a life-long ballet student, I loved the athleticism and intensity of the class. Although it's a simple enough sequence for beginners to follow, it also posed enough of a challenge to keep me on my toes. As a science and engineering student, I loved the mathematical precision of the class and the systematic way that the Bikram series works through every major joint, muscle, organ, and gland.
After years of bouncing around searching for my path (including a year with a professional ballet company and 2 years in grad school), I realized that yoga was calling to me and I should answer! I completed the Bikram yoga teacher training program in 2010 and have worked full-time as a yoga teacher ever since, up until 2014 when I opened my own studio in Bristol.
I love sharing yoga with as many people as possible. The benefits go so far beyond the physical body. Yoga has also made me more patient, more confident, more relaxed, and more content in life. I believe that everyone can benefit from yoga if they just give it a try! You don't have to be flexible - you just have to be willing. Give it a chance and see what it can do for you.
