Julie Cook, began her journey into yoga when she was 13 years old. The healing practice uncovered a hidden desire to share the nurturing nature of asana, pranayama and meditation with those around her. Her spiritual path has led her into many explorations of different types of yoga, including Hatha, Flow, Kundalini, Bikram, and Iyengar Yoga. In 2014, Julie became a Certified Hatha Yoga Teacher after intensive study at 7 Centers Yoga Arts in Sedona, Arizona.
For Julie, teaching yoga is an ongoing spiritual practice of connection, awakening and transformation. In her classes, students are encouraged to gently follow the wisdom of their own practice, to respect their bodies in doing what feels right to them, and to focus on the journey within. Her yoga instruction is based around a philosophy of kindness – kindness in actions and kindness in thoughts. Julie’s intention with each class is to teach from the heart, offer clear guidance and create a loving, supportive atmosphere where anyone of any age, physique, mobility, or background is welcome.
