Julie has practiced yoga for ten years and is a graduate of the Avalon Yoga Teacher Training and Certification Program in Palo Alto, CA, where she apprenticed with John Berg. She has trained with Max Strom, Ganga White, Paul Grilley and Kelly KcGonigal.
Her style is Hatha combined with Vinyasa Flow where the breath is synchronized with movement and the poses flow from one pose to the next. Her love and devotion to Yoga have led her to a path of sharing her passion with others. She loves to inspire her students and fully enjoys the transformation she sees with her students by helping them develop the mind, body and spirit connection. Julie also teaches Yin Yoga which is a very calming meditative style of yoga where the emphasis is on long-held, passive stresses of the deeper connective tissues.
Julie is affiliated with The Art of Yoga Project where she teaches high risk teens (girls incarcerated in the juvenile system), Yoga Theory, Asana and Art. Julie loves to share her passions and connect with the girls and bring them to a higher awareness of connection to body, mind and spirit.
Julie is also a partner with Niroga Institute, a non-profit organization that brings transformative life skills to students, vulnerable youth and cancer survivors. Julie was instrumental in implementing the first curriculum program at Log Cabin Ranch; A juvenile probation department for delinquent male juveniles.
