A 200 hour-RYT through Yoga Alliance, Julie Leigh has been teaching yoga for three years, practicing yoga for 13 years and has a background in gymnastics and cheerleading. Julie graduated with a in Commerce from the University of Virginia, where she was a cheerleader for four years. A gymnastics and cheerleading coach during college, Julie also coached the Northwestern University cheerleaders for several years after graduation while she was working in public relations in Chicago. Julie worked for Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) during college and served as a judge for UCA's high school and college cheerleading championships on ESPN.
Julie practices on a regular basis at various studios in California and has attended a teacher training for yin yoga with Paul and Suzee Grilley. She has attended yoga workshops with notable teachers including Dharma Mittra, Karthryn Budig, James Brown, Baron Baptiste, Shiva Rea as well as acrobatic yoga with Lux of Seattle Acro and Chelsey and Jason Magness of Yogaslackers. Julie and her partner are currently teaching acrobatic yoga workshops in southern California. She hopes to help people discover the many benefits of yoga and to see that it truly can change their lives by opening their bodies as well as their minds.
