I stumbled across yoga in my twenties in South Africa, where it was disguised as a gym “stretch class”. It was DIFFERENT ... yes, it felt like exercise, but there was something magical about the way it made me feel.
Many Oms later, I began teaching in 2007 and my advanced teacher training took me to India in 2014 for a deeper study and understanding of this ancient way of life. I continue to explore the many aspects of yoga and how it impacts my life and those around me.
“What Kind of Yoga Do You Teach?”
I teach Hatha yoga, encouraging a safe and enjoyable yoga experience. The Iyengar and Anusara styles of yoga have instilled alignment and intelligent sequencing into my practice, and I weave these and other yoga techniques and methods, such as Kripalu and Kundalini, into my teachings.
I am especially known for guiding people through the relaxation and affirmation techniques of Yoga Nidra, and I am equally humbled and delighted about the profound effects of this guided meditation practice.
** Please see my Yoga Nidra downloads and CDs ** at and enjoy this extraordinary relaxation practice.
From gentle chair yoga to invigorating and mindful vinyasa, I teach across the spectrum, in many different settings. From private homes for individual instruction, to yoga studios, office meeting rooms, recovery centers, yoga for veterans, and sunrise yoga beach scenes.
It’s my intention to encourage awareness, curiosity and acceptance; on and off the mat – and in my own yoga practice, I enjoy increased flexibility and awareness of body, mind and spirit, and my wish is to share this experience with others.
My yoga motto: "If it doesn't change your life, it's not Yoga.”
