My yoga journey started in 2004 at the age of 17 when I attended my first Vinyasa yoga class.

As soon as I stepped on the mat, I fell in love. I knew I wanted to be a teacher and to share this amazing practice with others. It has made me grow spiritually, so much, that the effect it’s had on me is life-changing.

In an attempt to immerse myself, I attended workshops, did research, read up and watched as many Youtube videos as I could get my eyes on. As soon as I felt I’d found a daily rhythm and I believed that I had gained enough knowledge, I started teaching friends and family. Word got out, and in 2009 I had quite a handful of students.

I then decided to do my teacher training at Living Yoga in 2013 under the wonderful guidance of Sarah Bentz, Bruce Burger and Jo Gibbon. It was without a doubt one of the best experiences of my life. It has opened a door that can never be closed and I cannot stop expanding my knowledge on this beautiful practice that is yoga, and to share all I know with my students.

I went on to teach at studios around Johannesburg as well as many private group and one-on-one classes.

My true love is teaching Vinyasa. With this practice I want my students to combat the effects of stress and my classes mostly focus on gaining courage and confidence to push yourself to reach your utmost potential in life, letting go of things that no longer serve you, being mindful, conscious and living a good karmic life, as well as always focusing on the positive.
I try to encourage my students to practice this both on and off the mat. I want my students to leave my class feeling confident, courageous, positive, elated, energised and uplifted.

Yin is another love of mine. I believe it is very important to balance out our energies. We live a life that is constantly rushed and fiery. In Yin yoga you learn to slow down, a lot. We go deeper than the muscle, working on flexibility and really challenging the mind to be still for long periods at a time. When you leave this class you feel calm, open, relaxed, focussed and patient.

Teaching is in my blood.
I have my Bachelors in Education, and I am a certified Kids Yoga and Air Yoga teacher.
