Karen is a 500 hour certified yoga teacher, registered with the Yoga Alliance and a member of the Cincinnati Yoga Teacher's Association.
She has been teaching yoga since 2001, just after receiving her 200 hour yoga teacher certification. Since then, she has received additional yoga training in both Thailand and India, receiving an additional 300 hour yoga teacher certification at Rishikesh Yog Peeth in northern India.
She has a variety of yoga experiences and training from Kripalu Hatha Yoga, Anusara, Ashtanga, and Kundalini yoga, and incorporates these influences into her classes, emphasizing an inner awareness, along with yogic breathing and beginner asanas. Her joyful style of teaching brings passion and compassion together as she offers ample warm-ups and alignment principles for a safe yoga practice; detailed instructions through a variety of beginner yoga postures balanced with pranayama (yogic breathing) to improve energy stamina, joint mobility, and muscle tone.
She has traveled extensively to further her yoga & massage training, graduating from the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy and completing a Thai Massage Teacher training with the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai, Thailand.
