Karen Burke Lane is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Yoga Teacher and specializes in working with adults, adolescents and families. Her work is grounded in a Strengths-Based Perspective within a Relational Model; allowing individuals to build on past successes, manage current challenges and create realistic aspirations for the future.
Her background is diverse within both academic and experiential settings. Karen earned her Master's in Social Work at the University of New England in 2003. Since then she has worked as a mobile crisis clinician and as a school-based counselor at the middle school level. Karen is also a graduate of the Sacred Seeds Yoga School and is a Registered Yoga Teacher. Most recently, she received nutrition training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
In addition, she has led backpack and canoe trips for at-risk youth with the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School in Maine, worked as a professional ski patroller in Colorado and taught health education in Nicaragua as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
Karen created Life Ideals with the intention to help individuals increase their resiliency toward a happier, healthier life. Drawing upon her past experiences, she works with people to integrate a holistic plan toward health and wellness. Karen encourages the cultivation of self-acceptance and patience within our selves in order to make our personal transformation long lasting and sustainable.
