I am Karla Rodriguez and I was born in Mexico City. Yoga came 10 years ago and since then it has been an important part of my life. The importance is due to the physical, mental and spiritual influence in me. In Mexico City, I studied and practice Hatha Yoga under the Iyengar system for 1.5 years as part of the certification teacher training with Herta Rogg. I also completed 2 teacher trainings with Dharmachari Dharmapriya during 2005 and 2006. And I had the chance to have courses with Margott Kitchen during a yoga gateway part of the Iyengar teacher training.
I am certified by a 200 hours Yoga Teacher Certification at Peachtree Yoga Center in Atlanta, GA under the guidance of my mentors Elizabeth (Ursula) Nix and Graham Fowler. Fascinated by Yoga, I've tried other styles such as Anusara Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga and Ashtana.

As an instructor back in Mexico, I have 7 years of experience teaching in sport clubs, for synchronized swimming teams and during personal lessons. I also had the opportunity to teach in Atlanta and now in Toronto.

My professional background is synchronized swimming. I practiced this sport during 18 years and reached the professional athlete level competing for Mexico National Team I in Sydney 2000 Olympic classification and winning Bronze medal in Panam Games Winnipeg 1999.

One of my objectives is to transmit to every person the importance of the conscious attention, lead the student to awaken his/her inner energy and to make him/her realize about yoga as an art and as a lifestyle.
