Kate Danta first began practicing yoga at the age of 19 and has been a teacher for over 30 years. She received her certification from The Harriman School of Yoga in Santa Monica, CA. She specializes in Indra Devi and Dantayama yoga, and trained for over a decade with Rama Berch, owner/director of Master Yoga Academy of La Jolla, CA. She had the pleasure of teaching classes for Master Yoga Academy for several years.
She has completed her training and is now a certified Kundalini yoga teacher. In this tradition yogis are given a spiritual name to assist in strengthening their spiritual identity. Kate was given the name Shivraj Kaur, which means the Princess/Lioness of God who is noble and gracious, and filled with truth and purity. Receiving the name Shivraj means that you feel in harmony when you create around yourself an environment of truth and purity. Using your spiritual name, Shivraj empowers your capacity to govern wisely. Being open to allow your presence to have a healing and uplifting effect on those around you. For the time being, the name Shivraj will be percolating in the inner recesses till the time it feels appropriate to make it her own.
Kate also is certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner, Yoga Therapist and Massage Therapist. She humbly shares the outgrowth of her work through Yoga & Healing Arts in offering daily classes, workshops and community events. Shivraj is also available for private instruction and deep tissue massage therapy session.
