Kate took her first yoga class in 1996 and has been in love with the practice ever since. She is the co-founder of Luma Yoga in Santa Cruz, CA and teaches throughout Santa Cruz at private and community venues.

Kate's fascination with yoga has led her to explore a variety of Hatha yoga traditions over the years, including Ashtanga, Kundalini, and Vinyasa. In 2012, Kate completed her 200-hour teacher training at Mount Madonna Institute. Her classes emphasize uniting movement with breath and healthy, individualized physical alignment. Kate is particularly inspired by, and attuned to, the ways yoga can nurture, support, and balance the lives of busy parents. As the mother of three young children, Kate deeply values the sacred space that is her yoga practice, and is grateful for the opportunity to help create this space for others.
