Kathy attended her first yoga class in January 2000 and was immediately drawn to the practice. A strong desire to teach existed for several years and she was able to realize that dream 8 years ago. Kathy is an experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 200), completing her teacher training in Northern Virginia in 2008. A relative newcomer to Asheville, she is inspired by the mountains, artistic energy and relaxed environment that is evident here. Her teaching style is strongly influenced by Iyengar yoga, and her personal style of teaching is variously described as clear, patient and positively charged. She makes every effort to involve students regardless of practice level. Classes emphasize movement and proper alignment. Goals are tailored to the needs of individuals in each class with a focus on strength, flexibility, and endurance. Kathy’s love for Yoga continues to grow in her own daily practice and with each class she teaches. Her fresh approach is predicated on the belief that the life-affirming benefits of Yoga are as endless as they are timeless; there is always something new to learn.
