Kathy O'Rourke owns Tapestry Yoga Center and is a yoga teacher in the best small town in America --Viroqua, Wisconsin; just 90 miles northwest of Madison. She has been practicing yoga for 17 years and completed her first 200 hour training at an Anusara studio in 2003. Over the last 15 years, she has been a dedicated student of ParaYoga and has earned a rigorous Level 2 Certification in this Tantric hatha yoga and meditation style founded by Yogarupa Rod Stryker. Her personal practice is a balance of breath awareness, alignment focus, and a connection to soulful intention. Recently, she discovered Power Yoga and loves to teach vinyasa style to live music. She and her guitar player husband, have created a class that links breath to beat and integrates movements from Desikachar and Baptiste for an innovative, challenging and dynamic class. Finally, she is an E-RYT-500 registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS) together with over 2000 hours of teaching time - an accomplishment that makes her pretty darn proud. Teaching yoga is her very favorite thing to do after disco dancing!
