KATHY QUACKENBUSH has been a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher since June 2006. She is a member of the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association and the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
In 2007 Kathy’s work at the Family Support Center in Easton, Maryland, was funded by the Teaching for Diversity grant from Kripalu. She volunteered at the Judy Center in Grasonville, Maryland. She was delighted to teach the practice of yoga to residents at Corsica Hills Center, and guide classes for students at Chesapeake College’s Institute for Adult Learning. Kathy also led classes at senior centers in Queen Anne’s County, Caroline County, and Talbot County, Maryland.
Kathy's classes are a great place to start for beginners or people who have not practiced yoga regularly, and experienced yoga practitioners are guided to explore ways to challenge themselves. Kathy's classes are an antidote to fast-paced, multitasking lives. Students get the opportunity to take time to practice what might seem radical - a bit of Self care, time for the Self.
Having experienced firsthand the transformational benefits of yoga, Kathy is honored to share this experience with her students.
• Gentle Yoga
• Yoga Nidra
• Yamas and Niyamas – Reflections of our true nature and Evolution toward harmony
Kathy’s classes are not only a place to stretch and move to become more flexible, but also to practice body awareness using patterned breathing (pranayama) and comfort in being (asana) to reestablish and strengthen the body-mind connection.
