Why I teach: Throughout the 20 or so years I’ve been a student of yoga, I have had the same conversation with hundreds of people. They say, “Oh, I could never practice yoga. I’m too stiff. I’m not flexible at all!” My response is always the same: “Yes, you can!! Yoga practice will help you gain flexibility in your body. ” This is the spark that drives me to teach, to share yoga that is accessible to all bodies, all ages.
My classes are: So much of popular yoga today is a very high-energy, workout-style experience. However, that's not my style. In addition to offering yoga that builds strength and flexibility in the body, I believe I also offer students an opportunity for them to challenge themselves in a way they might not get anywhere else…I offer them the opportunity to discover how to be kind to themselves. Kripalu yoga takes them inside to the place of compassion, of self-acceptance that lives within all of us – no pushing, no striving, just kindness and compassion to ourselves, our bodies, our spirits.
I'm also a student of Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga. I am a Reiki Master/Teacher and teach all levels of Reiki.
