It's all about the breath. Having a good work-out and/or stretching is beneficial, but the breathe is the guide throughout the practice. I am a practitioner and teacher of the Ashtanga practice, and I also teach yoga therapy with the counseling and psychology services (CAPS) at the University of Arkansas.
