I've been practicing Yoga since I found yoga travelling in Thailand in 1999, Meditation and Buddhism since 2002 My Yoga practice is influenced by Hatha, Iyengar, & Scaravelli methods, amongst many, using Krias, asana, yoga nidra, and other influences based on ongoing studies. the style that has emerged through time practicing is fluid, focused and meditative, and takes into account the students present, the weather, the time of year the temperature, the environment, and what we all bring to the class!

I also have a background in a variety of healing practices and the arts.
I also run workshops and retreats alongside other practitioners such as herbal medicine practitioners, Qi Gong instructors, and people with an integrative interest in mingling other yoga styles in session.

Yoga in Totnes with Katie Burgess

Friday morning yoga with Katie Burgess really sets me up for the day. Katie is very attentive and intuitive and instinctively knows what I need each time. Each session is a good mix of postures, breathing and relaxation and I always leave her feeling energised, more flexible and more relaxed. I can't believe she has only just started teaching, she is one of the best teachers I've been to — and I've been to a lot!

Katie is a wonderful teacher and her lessons are excellent. She is warm, creative, knowledgeable and inspired. We call her the yoga fairy as her classes are simply magical! I would highly recommend her lessons.

Clear and considerate

Katie is a very thoughful and considerate teacher. She adapts her lessons to the needs of her client and finds out what they would like to achieve.
She is very calm and fun at the same time, following a clear structure to the lesson. She does some physical adjustments and explains the spiritual bits without it being the main focus - a lovely balance.
I recommend a lesson with Katie - I still remember and use some of her teachings, which says a lot for me!
