Katie Louvat has been teaching yoga for more than a decade. Her classes reflect her gentle and playful nature, her fascination with anatomy and alignment, and her dedication to a path of mindfulness. Inspired by both the Iyengar and Vini Yoga traditions, Katie’s carefully sequenced classes fluctuate between movement, stillness, breath work and guided introspection. With warmth and attentiveness, Katie nurtures her students toward a deeper understanding of their bodies and an intimate, compassionate relationship with their inner selves. Her classes are appropriate for people of all ages, abilities, and body types.
Katie is grateful for the guidance and wisdom she’s received from all of her teachers. She apprenticed with Kim Orenstein at Yoga Loka in Reno, NV, completing her 200-hour teacher training in 2004. She is a graduate of Judith Lasater’s “Relax and Renew” restorative yoga teacher training, and spends as much time as she can in studying with Bay Area instructor Ada Lusardi and the teaching faculty at The Yoga Room in Berkeley, California.
