As a novice the class has been an excellent opportunity to develop and connect with the mind and body. Katie is engaging with the whole group and never fails to activate the relaxation response and places a strong emphasis on this. All good
I am returning to yoga after a long break. Katie was very welcoming and immediately asked about previous experience.
Although I have only been to a few sessions so far I have found them all enjoyable, varied but well structured.
Throughout the class we are reminded that we should only go so far as we are comfortable with whilst given encouragement to gently push our limits.
Where possible alternate poses or variants are suggested if the main pose becomes too much or if certain medical conditions pertain.
Katie does 'patrol' the class and will adjust poses as necessary.
She does ask for individual feedback as we pack away and leave.
I have been attending Katies classes for at least two years probably more, I have found they provide me with a calm and steady therapeutic base to my well-being, and enable me to keep track of and become more aware of where I am in regard to my energy levels and needs. Katie creates a lovely atmosphere in which to practice and has an acute intuitive sense of how those in attendance are feeling and will subtly shift freely to accommodate the needs of each class.
Classes with Katie meet you at your level of experience and enable those who wish to practice yoga to find their way without pressure. The 90 minuet class allows for deeper and unhurried exploration of ones needs and makes for a really peaceful relaxation session and the end, which leaves one feeling all loved up and cosie.
P.S I love the fab under floor heating, particularly during the cold winter months.
I have been going to this class on and off for the last couple of years. I particularly enjoy the spiritual element that appears to be missing from many other classes. There is also a chance to include chanting as part of a yogic practice which is a great way to finish off a session. I am a fan of the class being 90mins, just a bit more opportunity to deepen the practice and get in to the flow.
