Originally introduced to yoga in high school and attending classes sporadically throughout college, it wasn't until living in the buzz of NYC in 2012 that my love for yoga deepened beyond the physicality of the practice. Initially attracted to the power of asana (postures) practice, I soon discovered that I always left my mat feeling more centered and connected to my Self. The inner strength I seemed to find from regular practice was equal to the bodily strength I was also gaining. After working in a corporate environment I realized I needed to spend more time fueling the things that made me happiest, one of which was yoga. I received my 200 hr RYT certification from Dhyana Yoga in Philadelphia, with my training rooted in the Ashtanga lineage. Spreading my love for yoga has come to be the most fulfilling thing in my life, and I hope to encourage others not just to "do" yoga, but really live their yoga. I appreciate the balance that yoga encourages in all aspects of life, and try to translate that into a strong (chatarunga friendly!), flowing practice with a heavy emphasis on linking breath and movement. I like my students to have the option to challenge themselves while staying mindful, leaving class feeling calm and strong. I believe the only way to expand your comfort zone is to step out of it, and I hope to have the privilege to help lead you on your yoga journey!
