Yoga can be about so much more than complicated poses. If practiced regularly with a pure intention, Yoga can be a wonderful tool to improve every aspect of your life!
I'm Keya Williams and I have been practicing yoga since 2001 when I ordered my first yoga VHS and started practicing in my living room.
I started teaching yoga in 2008, when my boss at the fitness center I worked at asked me to step in for a yoga instructor who was leaving the company. While I had experience as a fitness instructor and dance teacher and several years of personal yoga practice, I had never led a class for myself!
This was the BEST thing that could have ever happened for my life and my career.
I continued teaching yoga at fitness centers such as LA Fitness and Atlantic Coast Athletic Clubs (ACAC) and continued to hone my skills and find my unique teaching style.
I finally went all out and enrolled in a Yoga Teaching Training Program with the Himalayan Institute, in which I finished my 200-hour certification in the summer of 2014!
As a busy mom with 3 young kids of my own I know just how beneficial my yoga practice has been to helping take care of myself and keep my sanity through these often chaotic child rearing years.
That’s why I pour much of my time into my online and offline communities of yogini Mamas. I offer FREE 30-minute online yoga classes every Wednesday! You can sign up for those at
And if you happen to live in the Reading, PA area, I offer group classes for moms through my Reading Yoga Mamas Meetup Group on , as well as private classes wherever is convenient to my clients.
I teach "classic" yoga using all 8 of the limbs of a traditional raja yoga practice. Sometimes I get fancy with arm balances and handstands, but most of my practice is purposeful.
And that purpose is to make my student feel strong, confident, calm and successful at the end of the day!
