Kirsten has been practicing yoga and mind body movement for 18 years and teaching full time for 10 years. She is a highly respected and well-loved teacher known for her keen focus on intelligent alignment and her passion for yoga as a healing art.

Her attentive and playful teaching is creative, inspiring and multidisciplinary. Her work is inspired by her additional training in a wide range of mind body movement techniques including; The Gyrotonic Method, Garuda, Qi Gong, Somatic, Budokon, these varied techniques bring a more profound approach to her yoga and an emphasis on circular and spiral movement patterns, which are truer to life.

Her yoga teaching is rooted firmly in the healing effects of conscious breathing. Kirsten works with Transformational Breath and Inner Axis personal transformation work which combines breath with movement.

Kirsten’s heart of teaching is hatha yoga, but there are also clear influences from iyengar yoga, mindful vinyasa flow, hot yoga, Budokon, Inner Axis and yoga therapy. She has studied with a raft of incredible international teachers including; Max Strom, Tias Little, Donna Fahri, Annie Carpenter, Lesley Kaminoff, Tiffany Cruickshank, Bo Forbes and Susi Hatley. Best Teacher I've Ever Had!

Amazing classes! The studio is absolutely beautiful. As someone who has attended several yoga classes from many different instructors, both within and outside the UK, I can say without a doubt that Kirsten is the best teacher I have ever had. Every time you finish a class, you leave the studio with a completely refreshed and re-energized mindset and overall feeling, which is truly amazing. The groups are fantastic, and I have brought my teenage daughter along with me on more than one occasion as it is the first time she has actually enjoyed and wanted to return to do more yoga lessons - something she has never wanted to before.

Person-centred mindful practice

Kirsten knows her stuff. Her depth of knowledge about how the body moves is exceptional. She observes your body, making suggestions for adjustments that are spot on. Even if it you weren't aware of it yourself!
I love Kirsten's focus on breath work. It's helped me calm my mind outside of the yoga studio. In the studio, I've found space in my body to breath that I didn't know was there.
Kirsten is encouraging, looks for solutions to postures that are challenging for you, always recognising we have our limits, and it's about finding what's comfortable without being in pain.
Studio Orchard is a little piece of heaven. 10/10

My Haven in Hedgerly

Studio Orchard has the whole package its personal, friendly, restorative, relaxing, nourishing and great fun. I have been to many Yoga & Pilates Studio's but Kirsten makes you feel energised but peaceful at the same time, you also know that the classes are tailor made for each individual in mind. You leave feeling like your rebalanced in mind, body and soul. My 14year old daughter loves it and too, the Studio is great for all ages. I can not recommend Kirsten enough.

Simply the best!

Kirsten is a yoga teacher like no other. 'Yoga Teacher' doesn't really do it so let’s use more appropriate words.

She’s simply unique in a wonderful way – spreading sparkly fairy dust wherever she goes. When it comes to her “calling”, she’s intelligent, passionate, knowledgeable, observant, committed and fun.

Whatever you do, just like “Top Secret hotels”, DO NOT tell anyone about this hidden gem in Hedgerley!

If you want more mind numbing “yoga”, exercises and army maneuvers with shouts of “go back, lean back!” then unfortunately this place is not for you (great news for the rest of us!)

More is indeed more in this case. Can you have too much more?? Go on; take a walk on the wild side, “safety” is so …SAFE ;I’ve only caught both hands in the coils of the Garuda machine once and I lived to tell the tale…

Time for one of Kirsten’s post-class rewards, more toffee, chocolate or tequila anyone?

Exceptional teacher

Kirsten has an exceptional amount of knowledge and understanding of yoga and a variety of other techniques which have supported and enhanced my personal yoga practise enormously. She translates her knowledge and understanding across to her students beautifully and light heartedly.

Passionate and exuberant yoga teacher

I met Kirsten in the yoga world around three years ago and since then have been gifted with the enormous pleasure of working together in a class environment at Studio Orchard as well as on a 121 basis.

Kirsten’s style of teaching is unique. She offers an exciting, fun and dynamic approach that challenges the physical body, encouraging space, freedom and the opportunity to explore the boundaries within. She has a remarkable ability to focus on the individual in any situation and offer attention, guidance and support. She is passionate and committed to finding out what really works for the individual in order to maximise results.

But even more inspiring and enlightening is the way Kirsten has encouraged my personal connection between mind and body. That by exploring my physical possibilities, trusting my intuition and respecting what I find has sparked my very own journey of self discovery and transformation.

Kirsten talks about this 'ease of magnificence and mindfulness' that can be explored on the mat but also transferable off the mat. This concept has not only connected myself to myself, but has also encouraged a very special bond between teacher and pupil that goes beyond teaching. It lies in the happiness, appreciation and gratefulness of life itself and I humbly thank Kirsten for motivating me to find this more often in my day.

Kirsten is compassionate and devoted to her work. She is awe-inspiring on every level, deeply impressive and breathtaking...... Literally! I have learnt so much in such a short space of time and her dedication and attentiveness is unrivalled.

The studio itself is a beautiful and welcoming space. Stylish and contemporary in design with a peaceful tranquility. It invites the outside in and the sound of nature sets an ambient tone to any practice. A hidden gem.

Quite simply an exuberant experience!

Serene but powerful class- Spotless studio in lovely setting

Kirsten teaches a varied style of different classes- serene but powerful classes with a focus on breath work rather than multitude of poses in one class. Attention to detail is very important - adjustments are well placed: good level of adjustment via verbal instruction balanced appropriately with physical contact. Kirsten varies class content effectively- clearly spends time planning in advance of class. I like the variety of different class types and the varied schedule during the week day. Studio is spotlessly clean- in a great situation with views of fields . Class size is small and friendly. Parking is easy just outside studio.
