Senior Yoga & Meditation Teacher
Byron Bay is the centre for yoga, mindfulness and wellbeing in Australia and Kirsty Nugent is one of its most respected teachers, having practiced and taught yoga and meditation for 30 years. Ten years ago, Kirsty shifted from corporate life to Byron Bay to teach yoga & run retreats full-time. Yoga had helped her recover from physical injuries sustained when she was a member of Canada’s national gymnastics team, and alleviate the mental stress sustained through high-pressure corporate roles and international moves.
Experiencing first-hand the life-changing benefits yoga and mindfulness brings to life, Kirsty understands the issues we face on a daily basis and has an extensive tool box of training and experience to draw upon to help you find ease in the body and mind.
To date, Kirsty has completed over 2,000 hours of teacher training across a diverse range of styles with a foundation in traditional Iyengar and Ashtanga practice. She is known for her beautiful pace and well-rounded classes while her nurturing voice creates space for peace & stillness.
She teaches alignment focused hatha, vinyasa, yin and restorative class styles incorporating breath work and meditation for all levels of students and corporate groups. She is a trained yoga therapist specialising in back-care, mindfulness and is a Yoga Nidra deep relaxation specialist. She has trained directly with master teachers worldwide. She is a passionate belief that there is a yoga style that can benefit every body and stage of life.
