I am a Yoga teacher with an RYT-200 designation through Yoga Alliance. I am also a nurse and adjunct faculty at a local college, teaching healthful living and stress management. I currently teach Yoga at my local YMCA and for a corporate fitness center. I am also the Yoga coach for the Wilmington University men's basketball and women's volleyball and lacrosse teams.
If you are looking for private or small group Yoga instruction in your home, office or athletic center, with an emphasis on overall well-being and improved flexibility and strength, then I am the right Yoga teacher for you. I provide private Yoga instruction for children and adults. I also offer school-based yoga workshops for kids with a focus on character-building themes and associated yoga poses and mindfulness techniques. I also teach Yoga specifically for athletes.
I can provide Yoga instruction for beginner through intermediate levels. I have a special interest in teaching beginners. I remember how intimidating Yoga was when I first started and how important it was to have a teacher who understood and made it enjoyable.
It is very important that I have a clear understanding of my clients' expectations and goals, therefore, communication is essential. I focus a lot on proper alignment and teaching clients the importance of breath and awareness in Yoga practice. Although most people associate Yoga with the asana or postures, Yoga encompasses much more, and sharing the basic elements of Yoga theory is essential to getting the most out of your Yoga practice.
My ultimate goal is to teach people what they need to know to in order to develop their own home practice, so that they can enjoy Yoga every day, and not just days that I am there to practice with them.
I am flexible with pricing options, depending on the needs of the client.
