On June 10, 2010 I walked in to my first yoga class with a friend of mine. Even though it was a horrible experience for me something in my soul knew that I needed to go back. I had just begun a journey to escape and heal from some very self-destructive behavior and I knew that this practice was going to over the healing that I desperately needed. A Baron Baptiste studio opened up right next to my job and I spent so much time there that I began to work exchange for a teacher there. This woman taught me how to value my body and to treat it with love and respect instead of hatred and disgust. I then got involved with an organization called Studio to The Streets were some of my yoga friends and I would take yoga in to a homeless shelter and I knew this was what I wanted to do. On October 28th, 2012 I completed my 200 Hour teacher training. After that I completed training in Applying the Science of Yoga for Addictions. My goal is to use the knowledge that I have acquired to teach people to connect with their bodies and minds and to learn to expect themselves exactly as they are.
