My background: I’m a Yoga Alliance 500 hr. certified OM Yoga (NYC) teacher since 2001 and I teach a Vinyasa style flowing class, movement connected to the breath with attention to alignment and the principles of Buddhist mindfulness.
I originally came to Berlin as a Fulbright scholar in contemporary dance and have lived here since 2009 with my husband and two kids. I aim to teach yoga with a sense of humor and ease (yoga should be fun!), while still challenging my students to go deeper into their own individual practice and to get to know their bodies and the wisdom this knowledge brings—compassion for one’s self that extends to our lives off the mat.
My training includes my studies with Cyndi Lee, founder of OM Yoga, elements of Anusara Yoga, and workshops with among others, John Friend, Rodney Yee, and Sarah Powers. I’ve taught yoga to all kinds of students in many settings, from studios to health clubs to schools and senior centers. I draw inspiration from my dance practice, from my readings of Pema Chodron and from my daily life as a mother.
