Hello and Namaste!
Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. I began my yoga journey in 1983 after a traumatic life experience and I began seeking answers to life's big questions. I found a book about yoga at my local bookstore and took it to a local park to give it a try. After a summer of daily practices it suddenly dawned on me that I felt more alive as if a light had been turned on from the inside. At that time, I did not have a teacher. But, what I did have was a sincere heart and an open mind. I found out by direct experience that this was the key to the "inner instruction" the Yoga Sutras speaks of and that we all have access to.
In 2003, I decided to become a certified yoga teacher. I chose Kashi Atlanta's Classical Yoga Teacher Training course (CYTT) in Atlanta, GA. The yoga community there was just what I needed and I learned so much about myself. I was so touched by the experience that I chose to live in the yoga community afterward to have the opportunity to live the yoga principles with others and go deeper.
As a licensed massage therapist since 1991, I had the opportunity to teach the Yoga Anatomy for Kashi Atlanta's CYTT from 2007 - 2010. This experience helped me deepen my understanding of Asana's (postures), one of the 8 limbs of yoga.
It is now 2020, I am 57, and we are in the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic. I have not been teaching publicly for many years but decided without a doubt it was important for me to offer my support too along with so many other teachers around the world. Jai!
