Lana Vogestad was teaching yoga full-time in Europe prior to moving to Atlanta in 2012. She was a pioneer in introducing Hot Yoga to Iceland, specifically The Barkan Method of Hot Yoga, and was also sent to the Netherlands to help open a new Hot Yoga studio in The Hague, called Balanzs. She has been regularly practicing yoga since 2000 when she started in San Francisco with the inspiring Bikram teacher, Mary Jarvis. The yoga changed her life, reshaped her body, healed injuries and gave her peace. It was also a powerful force for her to start listening to her heart. Lana has completed teacher training programs with Jimmy Barkan, The Barkan Method of Hot Yoga Level I, II and III, in addition to workshops with a wide variety of leading yoga teachers from diverse disciplines. She was raised in New York and holds a MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and a BA from Bates College in Maine.
It is Lana’s calling to teach yoga and inspire others to awaken the power they have within to follow their heart, the same way the yoga has been a force of change in her own life. Her classes safely push you to your boundaries, where you can notice a remarkable difference afterwards, not just physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. She believes the benefits of yoga are endless and dreams can come true.
