Beyond the grace of the flow, the depth of the breath & the joy of practicing with intent, it is the soul connection one can experience on your mat that is the true essence of yoga for me. It is from that connection that I teach.
I am humbled and amazed on a daily basis at how taking a simple step onto the four corners of a mat can transform your life. How the practice of yoga can create a deeper understanding of who you are. These elements fuel my passion for my own practice and continue to drive my deep seeded desire to teach yoga.
After spending many years abroad and travelling the world with the additional delight of practicing yoga in various exotic locations, such as Fiji, Borneo, Bali, Malaysia & Palau to name but a few. It was not until my return home to our shores of Cape Town that I completed my 200hr Vinyasa Teacher Training in 2011 and started a different adventure, that of teaching.
As a navigator of the seas and a professional photographer as part of my background, I enthusiastically like to bring the ease of flow and movement, as well as creativity of design into my Vinyasa classes. I see each Vinyasa class I teach as a journey of breath and an artwork of moving meditation. More recently I completed my 200hr Forrest Yoga Teacher training in Chicago. Forrest Yoga is a powerful practice full of strength, integrity and healing. I resonate deeply with this style of yoga for its strength in character and for the strength it encourages in the student on and off the mat.
It is said that the purpose of life is to discover your gift. The meaning of life is to give it away. I truly feel that I have found my gift!
