About Laura Flanagan

Laura discovered Yoga as part of her Fitness Training background back in 1992. She has been practicing yoga ever since and has been teaching since 1997. In 2004 she received her 200 hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) certification and in 2015 received 500 hour RYT. She has studied under many great Western teachers including Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Barron Baptiste, Judith Lasater, Gary Kraftsow, Mark Whitwell and many others. More recently, Laura had the opportunity to train with the grandson of the greatest Guru from whom all present-day lineages of Yoga come - Krishnamacharya. His name is Kausthub Desikachar - the son of TKV Desikachar who is father of Viniyoga. In April of 2015 she made her first pilgrimage to India.

Yoga has presented Laura with many gifts through her years of practice. She has found that it has offered her exactly what she needs when she needs it. She relates well to the Yoga Sutras and teaches her classes with the ancient scriptures always in mind. Laura's yoga teaching incorporates both a Yin style of holding poses along with Vinyasa, moving with the breath.

In addition to her vast Yoga Training, Laura is also a certified Yamuna Body Rolling instructor and trains with Yamuna on a regular basis. Body rolling is a form of self release using a 9 inch ball.
