I started practicing yoga in 2000 at an Iyengar based studio. I was fascinated not only by the precision of movement during the class, but also by how focusing my attention on that movement brought a deep sense of calm and peace to me. I continued to take classes and read and study a bit on my own over the next 12 years, when I then took the teacher training at Yoga North and became registered with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200. The teaching part of my yoga practice has been the most educational so far. Balancing my own practice with my teaching practice is an interesting equilibrium to try continuously to maintain. I fall out of balance often. But I always make my way back.
Besides teaching a weekly class at Yoga North and Maurices corporate offices, I also am available to teach private sessions. Multiple times a year I organize and lead yoga retreats both in the north woods of Minnesota and also in Puebla, México.
