At first, yoga seemed like a great way to build strength and flexibility for my body. I craved (and still do!) the physical exertion I experienced after moving through a vigorous practice or the deep release through a restorative one. After a horrific personal family loss I turned to my practice to help me heal and forgive. During this time I realized the true power of yoga; that it goes so far beyond the physical practice of asana (poses). It has the potential to heal individuals, families, communities, the world. Yoga is physical, mental, emotional, and is a pathway to samadhi or bliss. It is a voyage to discovering who you are, to letting your soul shine.
