I began my syudy of Yoga at the age of 15, I was training to be a dancer at the time and was advised to start the practice of yoga otherwise I may incure injury. With the aid of regular Yoga practice I completed a three year proffesional dance training course and graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Modern and Contemporary Dance and Theatre Studies from London Studio Centre - The University of the Arts London.
I decided to become a Yoga teacher once I graduated to help other dancers recover and prevent injury. The more I looked into it the more I realised that yoga doesn't just aid physical activity but improves all aspects of life no matter who you are or what you do.
I studied at Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre in India and completed the 200 hour Teacher Training Course in March 2014. I trained in India as the roots of yoga are deeply imbedded within it's society.
The course was extremely extensive and covered all aspects of Yoga and Ayurveda (The sister Science of Yoga). Within the course I atteneded class and lectures of Yoga philosophy, eithics, meditation, pranayama, chanting, chakras, mudra's, adjustment and alighnment and a vast nuber of asana classes from energising and invigorating to resorative and calming. The course has qualified me to teach all of the above and I will always incourperate every aspect of yoga in my classes. It is not only a physical practice to stretch and balance the body but a wonderful way to calm the mind and soothe the spirit.
In November 2014 I completed my CPD in Pre & Post Natal Yoga to spread the joy of Yoga to even more people.
Since graduating from Himalaya Yoga Valley I have travelled through India and South East Asia teaching at hostels, on the beach and even by a river on Hampi Island in central India. I cannot guarentee these wonderful settings for my classes but hopefully I can help you access your inner paradise.
Since May last year I have set up classes around South Hampshire and offer a number of ability level classes as well as private sessions at times to suit you.
